@Kim: Here's some more info..

Hi DemoCamp Members!

Although not strictly DemoCamp related, I wanted to reach out to the DemoCamp community and see if anyone is interested in participating in a Pecha Kucha night (6-8pm) at the December 2nd Calgary Agile Methods User Group (CAMUG) meeting.

CAMUG is a local group supporting agile, lean, or lightweight software development teams, and we are interested in learning about development tools, testing tools, best practices, or management/leadership talks. We are very industry focused and our audiences are typically 50-75 people per month.

The idea behind Pecha Kucha is to keep presentations concise, the interest level up and to have many presenters sharing their ideas within the course of one night. Therefore the 20x20 Pecha Kucha format was created: each presenter is allowed a slideshow of 20 images (or less), each shown for 20 seconds. This results in a total presentation time of < 7 minutes before the next presenter is up.

This is a lot like DemoCamp!

You need to talk fast and stay on topic to get your point across! Its a lot of fun. *There will be a prize for the best Pecha Kucha talk*. You will also be allowed to shamelessly promote your company a little bit if you want ;)

We are aiming to have 5 to 6 concise presentations. No more than 20 slides! Topics can be quick demonstrations of tools, experience reports about how your company or industry has adopted lean/agile best practices, academic papers, or really almost anything that could be of interest to the community.

We really really need more volunteers, and so if you would like to be part of this fun night, please send me (kris.read@gmail.com):

- Your name
- Your company or organization
- Your topic and why it would be of interest

Be generous and give something back to the CAMUG community this Christmas! If you have questions, track me down at DemoCamp tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Kris Read,
Moderator, CAMUG
